Here’s a couple of shots of Leonard proving that real men wear pink! And can look darn good in it too!

I only wish there were more! Blooper and on set silliness on the Trek set… In the last shot, Nimoy looks surprising a lot like Quinto!
I found some great archival stuff for this week: First, what appears to be a collection of some Trek/Nimoy goodness from a teenager’s bedroom wall in 1967, then a detail of the movie magazine article “My Other Life” below. (Don’t you love the first person narrative there? No doubt written by someone else!) I don’t know it there’s more to that article, but if I find more, you’ll see it here. I love finding Nimoy stuff in old teen magazines. You’ll also note there’s some badly colorized pictures here from the Trek set (T’Pring in Red!) Enjoy!

A little shout out to my pals at Facebook for linking me to this great picture and article about Mr. Nimoy’s home in Bel Air. An interesting place, definitely, although more museum-ish than cozy. I’d like to know the story behind what appears to be a burned out cello behind him. I love the tea house!
You can see the full article here.
Even though Trek was over by 1969, Nimoy’s popularity was soaring from its syndication and exposure in Mission Impossible. A shame Baffled didn’t get farther that a pilot, that would have been a fun show. But Nimoy’s credits notwithstanding, he was and is always Number 1 with his fans.

Hey Kids!
As you seen in previous FArFri , I’ve posted the work of artist Tafafa and her gorgeous renderings of Leonard Nimoy as himself and other characters. Tafafa has admitted on her DeviantArt page that she’s totally fascinated with Nimoy’s features, and aren’t we lucky that she captures him so beautifully? As a Birthday Week Special, I’m posting a bunch of her Nimoy studies– from kid to Senior — Prepare to be blown away. Enjoy!
For this weeks fix, here’s Leonard in one of his other favorite professions: Directing! Seen here directing Star Trek III, Star Trek IV, Three Men and a Baby and Funny About Love (with Gene Wilder). The lesson in all this? Always do what you love!

Mr. Nimoy gave a fine and heartfelt interview on CNN last night with Piers Morgan. In this segment he talks about how he was an ‘Olympic Smoker’ and the ignorance of tobacco dangers when he was young. Here’s that part of the interview’; I hope to get the full interview up later. He did great! Rock on, Grandpa.
