2013 in review
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
Madison Square Garden can seat 20,000 people for a concert. This blog was viewed about 65,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Madison Square Garden, it would take about 3 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
Happy 81st Birthday Nichelle Nichols!!!

Merry Christmas from TrekkerScrapbook!
Just taking a minute to wish you all a beautiful Christmas and wonderful Holiday season! As Dr. Seuss said “Christmas Day is in our grasp, so long as we have hands to clasp!” No matter which holiday you celebrate this season, I wish you all the joys of life and a blessed and happy new year to come. I am also very thankful for all of you who visit my silly little blog from time to time, and delighted to see that subscribers here have increased at least a third since last year! I hope I bring you a little joy every time, and you have all been wonderful. Thank you for your patronage, and have a very Happy Holiday Season! love, Therese
(btw, I am working on a Christmas- Themed Trek-Komic, but have been so busy with family and work that I haven’t had a chance to finish it yet! You should have it by January 1st, so stay tuned!)
FArFri: The Trouble with Tribbles (amigurumi) by bandotako
All I want for Christmas is a Spock amigurumi by artist (Kristel) on DeviantArt! Making delightful amigurumi characters is just one of her artistic talents! Her Spock is perfect! Love the Tribbles!
I wish I knew how to knit, I’d make the whole crew and all the original glamorous aliens to boot!
Spock sight gag on The Simpsons
I just got a chance to catch last Sunday’s new (Christmas themed) episode of The Simpsons– and in a parody of a bad Christmas game, an evil snowman was slashing up a video display of bad Christmas specials! Note our Vulcan pal on the left! (Actually, I think that Jingle Bell Spock would make a great special!) 😀
Check this out! “Ratty Saves Father Christmas” by Michael McKenzie (on Kindle)

Ratty Saves Christmas by Michael McKenzie is a Holiday short story that features the characters from The Wind and the Willows. McKenzie’s love of the characters really shine here! Enjoy! (Click on image for link)

My Weekly Spock: The Patchwork Suit!!! (Nimoy on Mike Douglas-Video)
Having a crazy busy week prepping for Christmas! So many projects to finish! I’ll post a bit more next week, but for now, here’s some truly funk-a-delic Nimoy from 1974, in his memorable appearance on The Mike Douglas Show!
Thrilled someone posted this, although I know there’s more than this! I’ve been looking for images of this incredible, phenomenal, denim patchwork suit, and you got to give the guy credit for pushing the fashion envelope! (He could fly away in those lapels!) –Next week I’ll post some stills!
Anyone remember Mason Reese? He was an advertising sensation in the early 70’s for his quirky looks and voice. So much so that he got a whole week as ‘co-host’ on the Mike Douglas talk show. Man, I remember watching this when it first came on (my Mom watched it every day). A shame Douglas didn’t have Nimoy as his co-host for a week, (although he did guest several times) Nimoy’s so sweet to his little fan here, saying: “We’ll take you on a trip on the Enterprise” Oh man, did I envy Mason here!
So as an early Christmas Present, Here’s your deliciousness for today!
Peter O’Toole Passed Away :-(
Sad to report, I just heard on NPR that the wonderful actor Peter O’Toole passed away on this past Saturday. 🙁 I loved everything he acted in, my favorites being The Lion In Winter and My Favorite Year. That grand voice is silenced, the glorious blue eyes closed, but their flame remains in our memories. Rest in Peace, Peter. May you and you great pal Richard Burton entertain your Heavenly hosts forever. <3
