If this page looks goofy… any suggestions?

Hi Everyone,

If this page looks a bit goofy to you, I understand. I’ve been trying to upgrade it with a “Buy Me A Coffee” button so I can accept little donations to help me pay for this site. I upgraded my membership with WordPress (a whopping $300+ for two years) so I could install the ‘coffee’ widget button However at present I haven’t figured out how to have the button actually appear on the page!

As you can see, all the ‘widgits’ that usually appear on either sides of the central column of text here have now all been shoved to the side, and I haven’t figured out yet how to put them back. It also changed the background color to the new articles to yellow instead of deep purple. (Huh?) All I wanted to do was to add the button at the top of the page, but when I added it, it only gives me a link (that I can only see here in my editing section) to a separate page which seems to to be starting a whole new blog page! –Not what I had in mind.

I am now wondering if I should just transfer this 10 years of posting to the new page or what? I don’t really want to change what I had here originally.

My two computer-whiz sons will be helping me with this. But if any of you have blogs here on WordPress could you send me any suggestions? Help!

In the meantime, I am writing bits that I will post them here soon, and I appreciate your patience!

Hope you’re staying well and having a lovely holiday season! I will have more posts up before Christmas! -Therese <3

Just a Quick Question…

Hi Everyone! I’ve been reviewing my stats, which to be honest with you, don’t really matter that much to me, but I was just wondering…

So often I’ll see ‘likes’ on my Facebook extension of this page, often within seconds of posting an article. I wonder if anyone really reads my posts or just ‘likes’ the picture posted with this link? I’d love to read comments on my posts here on the original page, or see if it has any likes here, but that doesn’t happen too often.

My recent “Caturday with Spock” post got a lot of ‘likes’ on FB, but the actual images which include a caption can’t be seen by just looking at the link. I just wonder how many of you read the entire posts or just ‘like’ the featured photo?

Anyway, I hope you’re enjoying my site and believe it or not, I’ve been running it for 9 years now! I still have many ideas for posts and I try to post 1-2 times a week (I’ve been busy with my Facemask business) Thanks for your patronage! 🙂 Stay well, safe and LLAP <3

Hey, I got 430 ‘Crew’ Members Here!

Well this must be a historic day! I just checked my statistics here and it appears that I’ve just hit 430 e-mail subscribers! I guess I have my own Enterprise crew! Ever since I started this blog 5 years ago, I hoped I would have at least as many subscribers as Enterprise crew!  Thanks to all my subscribers and there’s always room for one more on my ship!

A Celeste Update and a Request from Me (Therese)

it's all in the mindDear Friends,

Could you please do me a favor? In this past month since I suggested it, I have only seen about $70 donated from trekkerscrapbook readers (including my two) and I’m wondering if  perhaps some of my readers here have donated, but have not included the words “trekkerscrapbook’ in their accompanying note?  If any of you out here have donated to Celeste, PLEASE let me know here so I may tally the total up. I am hoping to raise $1500 for Celeste through this site alone, but it is only possible if I know who has donated and how much — the easiest way for me to see this is for you to write “trekkerscrapbook”  or even “TS” in the comment section when you donate.  Please donate early and often! For every little bit helps! When we reach $1500 in donations, I’ll get to have an exclusive interview here with Celeste!   Hope to see a bunch of new donations soon; she’s almost at the 1/2 way point ($25,000)!Thank you!

Celeste left an update last Tuesday (5/19).  She has completed her chemo treatments, but had to have two extra  Neupogen shots Wednesday and Thursday  because her white blood cell count was off (Ugh!)  However, she and Nazim did get out to a lovely outdoor restaurant to relax.  Inch by inch, Dear Lady <3

Enjoy the new comic to promote her cancer fund – I am also making poster copies of this to promote it around town.  I know we can reach this goal!

As Celeste wrote:

“Just when I was starting to feel better after the last 5 Neupogen shots I got a call from the doctors office regarding my blood work which was drawn yesterday and I have to go back to the hospital infusion center for two more Neupogen shots (Wednesday and Thursday) because my white count is still not normal. That means bone pain for a week following the shots and that means not sleeping well for another week. The fun just keeps coming doesn’t it?”

An Exciting CHALLENGE for all My Readers — Exclusive Interview with Celeste Yarnall

the interview

Hey Everybody!

I have some exciting news!  I am offering you a challenge!

As you all know, our friend and TOS Guest Star Celeste Yarnall has been battling a rare ovarian cancer.  Her cancer fund is almost to the half way mark of $25,000.  As I write this today, she is heading in for more chemo. <3 Celeste needs our support and prayers, but the best thing we can do is send donations to her fund to help pay the medical bills her insurance won’t cover.  I came up with this idea recently, and when I messaged it to Celeste, she happily approved! 🙂  So here’s the challenge:

If  We, all the readers and subscribers to trekkerscrapbook, donate at TOTAL of $1,500 or more for the cancer fund, Celeste Yarnall will grant me (and all of you) an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW for this site!  This would be a wonderful opportunity to hear what it was like to guest on so many classic 60’s series (Bonanza, My Three Sons, The Man From UNCLE, It Takes a Thief, The Wild Wild West,) and OF COURSE the classic Star Trek episode The Apple!  Not to mention what it was like to work with Elvis Presley!  And even better, If we raise the money, I will also select 3 questions  from your submissions to add to the interview!

HOW TO DONATE TO CELESTE’S FUND AS A TREKKERSCRAPBOOK MEMBER:   (It’s Easy!)

1) Go to Celeste’s Cancer Fund at  http://www.gofundme.com/kvo9xs

2) Click on the Donate Now button.

3) Enter the amount, your name, e-mail, etc.  but MOST IMPORTANTLY:

4) In the COMMENT section below, enter the words: “TrekkerScrapbook” (and a personal note if you like). This way I can keep track of how many members here have contributed and how much we have achieved.   I will post updates here regularly.

5) Hit ‘Continue’ button, finish payment.

Kids, I really want this interview, so let’s make this happen! I know any extra money made will help Celeste and Nazim greatly!   Hope to see those dollars add up soon!!  Please donate today; the sooner we can raise $1500, the sooner we can get the exclusive interview!  And start thinking of what questions you’d like to ask Celeste!

Thanks So Much, Therese Bohn  😀

1000!

1000 thank youI just checked my stats this morning, and it turns out that between Facebook, Twitter, and just plain old e-mails I now have 1000 subscribers to this blog!  😀   Thank you everyone who checks this out from time to time; I never thought three years ago that this silly little Trek blog would acquire so many viewers! (from all over the world!)

Thanks so much Kids! I look forward to posting new things for you, feel free to send me any suggestions, or if you have a TOS Trek story to share, let me know! And please, if you know anyone who loves TOS let them know about me!   May you all Live Long and Prosper!  Love ya! Therese

Hello Everyone! Welcome to Newbies!

oh myWell, well, it seems my viewership here has grown exponentially since yesterday!  I just want to take a moment to say Hi and thanks to all my new subscribers and for your wonderful comments here!

I started this blog in 2011, and have filled it with my clippings, anecdotes and art related to the original series of Star Trek.  So far I have posted entries from my three original Star Trek scrapbooks (hence the blog title) that I collected in the 1970’s.  I do have a fourth scrapbook somewhere but haven’t found it yet!  You may have noticed that my blog is somewhat Spock/Nimoy centric 😉 , since I’ve been in love with the man for 40 years now!  I hope you’re enjoying it and I hope you will explore the many different categories. I am especially fond of my original ‘StarTreKomics‘ that I post from time to time, and I also have been working on a series of Star Trek Posters that present the original 79 episodes as old style movie posters, among other things.  There is also ‘My Weekly Spock’ segment every Monday that presents one or  photos of Nimoy as Spock, himself, or as the many other characters he’s played. (for more pics, see my original version ‘My Daily Spock‘)  Often on Wednesdays I have Wideo Wednesday where I post a fun video of whatever strikes my fancy (sometimes Trek) Every Friday I have FArFri, which stands for ‘Fan Art Friday’ where I  showcase the unique and marvelous Star Trek art I have found on the net.

Of course I have many interests outside of Star Trek, (see categories on right) and they get mentioned here from time to time. If you should need any more info about me, just click on the “ABOUT” link at the top of the page. (where you’ll see a silly 20 year old picture of me in my home-made Trek uniform!) If needed, you can also Contact me here.  Keep those cards comments and letters e-mails coming!

BTW, I produce this blog in the most old fashioned of ways — on my Desktop Computer with an old IBM keyboard!  I have a fun time  posting and creating, and nice way to say “Hi!” to Trek fans from all over.  Of course, I don’t post every day, and am very busy with my work and family, but if I can bring a little smile to you, my work is done!  Knowing that anyone even reads this is a pleasure to me, Enjoy, and I wish you all Peace and Long Life! -Therese 🙂
