My Weekly Spock: Leonard, Bill, and Harlan

Here’s a wonderful photo of  Leonard and Bill with writer Harlan Ellison (The City on the Edge 0f Forever).  From the set design,  I’m guessing it was taken during the filming of  Mudd’s Women

Nimoy and Shatner’s autographs are so very typical of their personalities!

Nimoy: Harlan, Love you and your great credits” –  Shatner: “Who the kid in the middle?”Harlan Ellison

lol.   I bet they had a great time!

I’ve also see a version of this photo edited to appeal to all the ‘slash’ fans out there-with Harlan missing and L & N side hugging!  Can’t find a link but you get it.

Dream of Nimoy on Broadway

I had another funny dream this morning — I was reading a Daily News tabloid that had a big headline proclaiming “THAT’S NOT SPOCK!” and a photo of Nimoy in a old bathrobe on stage in an angry stance.  The article read “Cursin’ Grumpy Grandpa rules the Broadway Stage!”  It proceeded to explain that Nimoy’s latest venture was playing a Grouchy, intolerant, Archie Bunker-like character in a new musical!  There were photos of him laughing and mingling with the cast, and comments that “He really enjoys this, it’s so out of character for him!”  And I could hear someone say that he’d be performing in it BOTH of the theaters named after him on NYC and LA! (In reality there’s only the one in NYC).

As I looked at the ad, I thought “Wait, he’ s in a play?  I’d love to see this! Then I thought “But wait…” and I quickly scanned for the date;  it was dated 2012.  I had missed it.

I wonder what brought this on?  I had been reading a Daily News in the cafe at Wegman’s yesterday, and its tabloid style was clearly all over the paper in the dream.  I’ve also been thinking of going to NYC lately, and Nimoy occasionally pops up in my dreams.   Maybe somewhere in my brain The Lazy Song was playing too, and that would explain the bathrobe!

My Weekly Spock: Rare Color Make Up Pics

Turning into Spock isn’t easy!   Here’s some rare color stills of Leonard during and after makeup.  In the regular lighting, you can see how thick the pancake was.  Spock should have dressed in a button down shirt all the time 🙂

The shirt he’s wearing is his own, but very similar to the one he wore in The City on the Edge of Forever.

My Weekly Spock: On the Trek set with Joan Wilson

Hey All,

For this week I found a great group of personal photos from Joan Winston, who was the author of The Making of Star Trek Conventions, and the co-author of Star Trek Lives!. Joan was a legendary superfan and Trek fandom was a lot happier because of her!  Enjoy these candids of Joan with Leonard, De, Bill, and Jimmy on the Star Trek set during the filming of Turnabout Intruder! (Funny how flat the sets look without the right lighting!)

My Weekly Spock — Nimoy as Samuel in ‘David’

Leonard as the prophet Samuel in the TV move David (1997).  It looks like a good movie! I think I missed it the first time around because I was preoccupied with having my first baby! I’ll have to look this one up!   I love how he looks here.

Btw, getting back to my old self now. Thanks for your patience and support!  🙂
