Leonard Nimoy would have been 89 today! I always like to take a moment to remember him on his birthday. He was a wonderful, brilliant man, fine actor, and great friend to many.
I have to admit, that although he is missed, I am a little thankful that he isn’t here to deal with this pandemic. As a man suffering with COPD from years of smoking,(even though he quit), I suspect he could have caught the virus a bit too easily. But he is at peace now, and, we’re so lucky to have had him in our cultural life.
I also wish a Happy 2nd Anniversary to Adam and Terry (Farrell) Nimoy, who couldn’t have picked a better date of remembrance for their happiness. I wish them love, peace, and safety now and always. <3 <3
Leonard Nimoy in the 1990s, He would have been 89 today!
Hard to believe it’s been two years 🙁 But always in our hearts. That smile, the laugh, the voice, the genuine goodness of a wonderful person. He was magic, and weren’t we blessed?
I can’t stop watching this! So great to see these outtakes and Leonard’s concentration on making Spock just right! I know what I want for Christmas! I’ll have another fun video coming up soon, so stay tuned!
This is all kinds of wonderful. Just a few days ago at the the Destination: Star Trek Convention in Birmingham, England, the stars the many Trek incarnations as well as special guests posed on a lovely recreation of the Enterprise bridge! But most importantly, Captain Kirk, Mr. Chekov and Mr. Sulu were back at their stations!
This picture got me a little emotional! Seeing William Shatner, Walter Koenig and George Takei sitting so fine just made my heart swell (and break just a little)! Unfortunately, Nichelle Nichols couldn’t make it, but I’m sure she was there in spirit. And as beautiful as this is, it made me miss the crew now watching from above: Leonard Nimoy, Deforest Kelley, James Doohan, Majel Barrett, and Grace Lee Whitney <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Fortunately, the legendary three here had plenty of support in their Trek family. Most notable is Leonard’s son, Adam Nimoy, standing in for his beloved father. As much as I wish that Leonard was still here, I’m so thankful that Adam was there for him.
I also LOVE that George Takei wore a black shirt with a bright yellow sweater, mimicking his original uniform, and look how proudly his sits back at his helm! Steady as she goes!
Now enjoy this moment of Star Trek Awesomeness!

This week, my oldest son Steve is turning 19! So proud of him and thankful for my beautiful son! It got me in mind to post these of Leonard and his son Adam. 🙂
I’ve have had an idea to make a Spock/Nimoy tribute for a long time! (long before he passed). When I first heard this song by the great Billie Holiday, I thought it would be perfect backdrop for Spock’s beautiful brown eyes.I’ve combined clips of Mr. Nimoy as Spock and as Paris to make this little tribute. I hope it will bring joy to all who loved him.
It’s called Them There Eyes – In Honor of Leonard Nimoy 1931-2015. Enjoy, Thank you!
Leonard with great grandson Charlie Pearson in 2011. (Aww!)
I loved this photo of Mr. Nimoy (in 2011) with his great grandson Charlie Pearson that was featured People.com when Nimoy died. But what struck me the most was how much this little guy resembles his Great ‘Poppi’ as a child! (the eyes, the ears, the smile!) Charlie is Adam’s grandson and truly that apple didn’t fall far from the tree! Sweet little fellow!
Happy to report that Adam Nimoy’s Kickstarter fund met it’s goal yesterday; ($662,640 total) one day short of the deadline! I look forward to the final product of For the Love of Spock sometime next year! Congratulations Adam! (And I look forward to my bonus gift for contributing 🙂 )
In the meantime, I urge you to please contribute to Celeste Yarnall’s GoFundMe page to help pay the cancer bills her insurance won’t cover. Celeste has another surgery coming up in late July (Hernia plus removal of a large cantaloupe-sized mass and insertion an IVC filter in a hip vein to protect her from the possible migration of two clots* to her heart or lungs). This is a very trying and scary time for Celeste and her family, and I know that the love and support that went into Adam’s project would be so welcome and helping here. Please send what you can, every bit will help. If Adam can raise over $60,000 in one day, surely we can raise the rest of Celeste’s fund ($23,665) within a week! Please share this message with all who can help. Thanks so much, Therese
Adam Nimoy’s Kickstarter fund to make the documentary about his Dad Leonard Nimoy and Mister Spock is coming down the wire!
At this writing, the fund is at $537,454. The Goal is $600,000 and it has to be made by July 1st! Adam must raise $62,546 within the next 60 hours, not a penny less, or he will lose ALL of his funds pledged so far to make this labor of love.
I made my contribution and I wish I could send more, but I’m hoping that EVERYONE who reads this will contribute whatever they can, for this will be a very special and wonderful documentary, or should I say ‘Spockumentary’!!
Please donate whatever you can before the deadline of July 1st. Thanks so much!
