I’m Back and This Should be a Public Site Now!

Hi Everyone!

It’s been an interesting couple of weeks and if you have had problems logging into my site, I humbly apologize!

You see, the other week I received a note on my Paypal saying I owed $500+ to renew my site here on WordPress for two years. Now it’s a bit confusing, but I thought I had renewed my account here several months ago, but that was just for the domain name. The reason I had this enormous bill was because two years ago I had upgraded my trekkerscrapbook.com site to a commercial site so I could include a “Buy Me a Coffee” link that my readers could click on if they wanted to send a donation of support to the site.

Long story short, I got a hold of WordPress in a panic, letting them know that there was no way I could afford the commercial billing now. The associate was delightfully friendly, patient, and understanding of my dilemma. She let me know that, yes, I would be refunded the big amount and instead my site would go back to looking like it did two years ago, and it would only charge me $48 a year.

Whew!

Although I was relieved to be refunded my original amount, I noticed that I had to log back in to get back to doing all the stuff I do here. Fine! I’ll just look up my password…

Could not find my my password list!!! Fortunately I just found it today and here I am. HOWEVER, as well as my site being returned to its previous format (Coraline) it had also be changed to a ‘Private’ site, which is why some of you may not have been able to have access. Well, I just fixed that, and you should all have no problem seeing my site now. So sorry for the mess, and thanks again for your patronage.

And as to the donate button, I’d like to thank the two of you who donated! I did have a nice cup of tea! Greatly appreciated!

And now back to your regularly scheduled trekkerscrapbook.com. My next post will appear soon about my wonderful visit to Albany last month to see Adam Nimoy!

Love to you all, Therese 🙂

Trekker Scrapbook got a New Look!

Hi Everyone!

I got a donate button!

I’m so excited to say that after 10 years posting this blog, I figured it was time to give this ol’ girl a little renovation! So with the help of my Excellent WordPress Tech Person, Trish, I upgraded the look of my little page to something a little more modern and eye-friendly! A THOUSAND thanks, Trish! To be fair, the old web design I was using, “Coraline” had been retired. So a new year, a new look!

I’ve also added a “Buy me a Coffee Cup of Tea” Button above right so if you like what you see here, you can donate to me above (and here) with one click! This will really help to support the financial end of this blog. Sadly, since Covid began, I haven’t been able to to do much Substitute Teacher aide work so any contribution is welcome ❤ (but no obligation!)

I hope you’ll enjoy the new look, and I’ll probably make a few tweaks here and there as time goes on. (Wondering if I can add my own custom font to the header above). Let me know how you like it! It certainly inspires me to write more posts! (and a little more variety too!) With luck it will go on for another 10 years!

Thank you all my readers for helping to make this site a reality! Be sure to check the archives (here on the right by the month and year) to catch up on anything you missed! (Over a 1000 posts!)

I’ll be posting my annual Farewells Collage very soon, so stay tuned!

Love, Blessings, and stay safe, Therese 🙂

Just a Little Haircut…

And now for something completely different… Last month I decided, “Hey, it’s Spring, time to donate my hair.”

So I did! You might recognize some of the music. 😉

You can donate your hair to Locks of Love here: https://locksoflove.org/hair-donation/

Sorry I haven’t posted lately…

Hi Everyone!

Forgive me for not posting in a while, but May has (and often is) a very busy month for me.  The end of the school year is always a time of lots of running around and lots of events. I’ve been subbing all month for an aide at the high school, and between holidays (Mother’s Day, Memorial Day), my other job (fabric store) and personal events (my son’s 21st birthday, our 25th Anniversary) you can say I’m exhausted!

But I do have some articles in the pipeline once the school year ends and I look forward to sharing them with you!

For now I must say  Thank You to all my followers here, especially the newest ones who have brought Trekker Scrapbook’s following to 500!!!  Never thought I’d reach that! Thanks so much for your interest, and I’m glad you’re enjoying the 1000 plus posts that I’ve put here since starting this blog nearly 7 years ago! Your patience will be rewarded!

Thanks again, happy spring, and Live Long and Prosper! – Therese 🙂

Heading to Star Trek: Mission New York!

Hey all!  I’ll be heading to Star Trek:Mission New York this coming Sunday!  Looking forward to it! Any of you going?

Therese as Rand on her way to last year’s RoberCon in Binghamton NY

I’ve been to a few conventions in my time, but I realize the last time I was in at a major convention in NYC was 40 years ago this month!  It was Star Trek Bi-Centennial-10 in 1976, a when I was 15!  So much has changed in that time.  With the advent of Comic-Cons and such, there is more emphasis on all different types of fantasy and sci-fi creations (and that is great), but it’ll be really fun to be among mostly Trekkies here   🙂   I admit, when I’ve gone to our local ‘RoberCon’ in the past few years, it’s a tad frustrating (or at least a reminder that I’m getting old!) that the younger kids have no idea who I’m dressing up as.  Kids thought I was an elf from Lord of the Rings when I dressed up as T’Pau the other year, and you’d be amazed how many people thought I was Nurse Chapel when I dressed up as Yeoman Rand last year!

But at Star Trek Mission New York, I’m sure that true Trekkers will know that I’m Dr. Miranda Jones from “Is There in Truth No Beauty?”  (Assuming I finish my costume on time!!)

I’ll be getting a few photo ops with several of the celebs (will post as soon as I get them)!  Should be a blast!

Are any of you going?  Let me know, I’d love to meet you!!!  See you Sunday, I’ll be wandering around! 😀

Have fun and LLAP, Therese

Update! 9/3 — I just finished my ‘sensor robe’ like Miranda’s but I’ll be wearing black under it (didn’t finish the blue in time)  Here’s my bargain basement version of the sensor robe   🙂

I’ll look better with the black pants and shirt under it!

Had a Little Surgery -Doing Fine

Hey Kids,

I had a little surgery yesterday for some ‘lady stuff’, but I’m doing fine!   Slept through most of the afternoon , but this morning I’m so full of energy!  Wish I could feel this way all the time! Still need another day of rest, but glad it’s over with.  Will post a FArFri today and be back to more posting next week.  Have a lovely weekend! -Therese ❤

A Little Out of Commission…

Hey Kids,                                                                                                                                        I’ll be out of commission for the next couple of weeks.  I am having surgery this coming Wednesday (8/27) and will need some time to rest.

discomfort

I’ve scheduled several posts while I’m recuperating, (including more Star Trek posters) and I hope to be back to regular posting by the end of the month.  Thanks for your continued patronage and support! Feel free to leave some some comments!    Love, Therese  🙂

May 29th

Hey Kids,

Just wanted to let you know that I had a biopsy today.  Without going into too much detail, I just want to say that there’s an 80% chance that my little problem is benign.  So please  say a little prayer for me, and keep meditating on that number; 80%.    (I’ll know by Monday) Thanks for your support.

In other much happier news, today was also my 21st Wedding Anniversary! Already?? Seems like yesterday.  Love my Mister!
