FArF: The Lovely Backdrops of Star Trek: The Animated Series

In reviewing the old Star Trek animated series it was clear that a lot of the best art was in the creative and colorful backgrounds made for the planets.  Characters  silhouetted against the backdrops made an even a stronger impact.  The Original Series had lovely painted backdrops too, but in TAS, the imaginations soared, creating scenes the original couldn’t afford.  A shame there were only  22 episodes. I  especially like the re-creation of the Guardian of Forever in Yesteryear, and the planet Vulcan.  There’s a lovely image of Uhura resting by a lake in Once Upon a Planet. And the curvy architecture of the palace in The Lorelei Signal reflects its female inhabitants.  Which are your favorites?

TrekkerScrapbook is 5 years old!

Hi Kids!

Hard to believe that I started this silly little blog half a decade ago! And here I am, 5 years and 1000+ posts later still able to come up with things to talk about for a 50-year old sci-fi show!  ( I guess you could say I’ve completed my first 5 year mission!)

I’m always getting ideas about TOS posts, whether it’s analysis of a character or story, a comment about the franchise or (most popularly) any pictures  of cast and crew (especially of sweet Leonard Nimoy). I still have so many I want to share.   Of course, I don’t always have time to write them, but please know that I’m happy to be here and it’s wonderful to know that I’ve attracted so many nice people to my site!  Thanks for your patronage and I hope to bring you more fun and Trekkiness in the coming year!  LLAP!  Love, Therese  🙂  \\\///

FArFri: Kirk as Aristotle with Spock as Homer

This cracked me up… based on the painting Aristotle with a bust of Homer, by Rembrandt, Kirk admires a bust of his friend’s mirror image!  I don’t know who made this, but bravo! 12111997_911083478962305_3463114619088291304_n
