Happy Monday Everyone!

Another week begins. I wish you all the blessings of the day and here’s a little smile to get you on your way 🙂 Get some fresh air when you can — it’s nearly 60 degrees F in my little corner of NYS right now. I just got back from a long walk. I do feel spring coming in on little cat feet.

Been a While! How’s Your Summer?

Hey Kids,

Sorry I haven’t posted for a while, but I’ve been working on many projects at home, plus work,  as well as having a great trip to NYC this past weekend! I will be posting more Trek stuff soon and I just wanted to let you know I’m still here!

While in NY, I visited the Modern Museum of Art (MOMA) and if you ever get the chance to see it, it’s wonderful! Here I am with Andrew Wyeth’s Christina’s World; a painting that has fascinated me since childhood.

Hope you’re having a nice summer, what have you been up to? 🙂

My Weekly Spock: Leonard, The Acting Coach

Remember a while back when I posted those great pics of Leonard in a tennis sweater? Well, a reader kindly provided me with the full article (and pictures) that came with it!  It was from TV Star Parade from November 1968,  and it’s a great article about Leonard’s work as an acting coach!   I didn’t realize he had helped such actors as Richard Chamberlain, Michelle Lee, and Pat Boone!  Renaissance man strikes again! (Although at the time he probably needed the money) Surprisingly, there’s a reference to his future wife Susan Bay here too! The best part is that there’s still a lot of great advice here for aspiring thespians! (like me!) A Black Cat on Black Cat Day!

I was taking some pictures at a local park today for a project, and the first thing I came across was this beautiful black cat just serenely sitting under the trees! By some cosmic coincidence I just found out that it is “Black Cat Day” in England!!  Enjoy this beauty!

I know someone who loved kitties!

Snow Day!

Well, last week was that big storm in the northeast, but it mostly skirted my area — but today?  Snow Day! We had about 8-10 inches of snow.   It was pretty fluffy outside this morning and now the snow is settling down, but it’s Freezing! Currently 12F but the windchill makes it feel like -10F.  Eeek! Glad I didn’t have work today and that the kids were off!

Winter Storm “Vulcan” Ends its Wrath…

So, the past few days another in the latest line of snow storms passed over these contiguous 48 states, and as I check in on The Weather Channel occasionally, I see they’ve continued their silly practice of naming these winter storms. (The NOAA does not smile on this).  Indeed, there’s been so many winter storms this season that their list was up to the ‘V’s.

Anyway, as silly as it is that Weather Channel names these storms, I’m sure Trek fans nationwide smiled as this one was named ‘Winter Storm VULCAN’.

As the storm diminished yesterday, meteorologist Kelly Cass and storm specialist Carl Parker chatted about the storm, and as they threw it over to their man Mark Eliot to explain the forecast.  Mark  threw out the Vulcan Peace Sign saying (approximately) “You can give it the Vulcan wave goodbye!”

The next storm they’ll name will begin with W.  You think it might be “William” after Bill Shatner? 😉  Here’s some screen caps I caught.  Note the little sidebars about “The Wrath of Vulcan”, The End of Vulcan”, and “Vulcan Packs the Powder” — there’s a JJ Abrams sequel somewhere in those titles!IMG_8710

Kind of odd they named it Vulcan, since Vulcans aren’t fond of cold! It would be a great name for a summer heatwave though!

Hello Everyone! Welcome to Newbies!

oh myWell, well, it seems my viewership here has grown exponentially since yesterday!  I just want to take a moment to say Hi and thanks to all my new subscribers and for your wonderful comments here!

I started this blog in 2011, and have filled it with my clippings, anecdotes and art related to the original series of Star Trek.  So far I have posted entries from my three original Star Trek scrapbooks (hence the blog title) that I collected in the 1970’s.  I do have a fourth scrapbook somewhere but haven’t found it yet!  You may have noticed that my blog is somewhat Spock/Nimoy centric 😉 , since I’ve been in love with the man for 40 years now!  I hope you’re enjoying it and I hope you will explore the many different categories. I am especially fond of my original ‘StarTreKomics‘ that I post from time to time, and I also have been working on a series of Star Trek Posters that present the original 79 episodes as old style movie posters, among other things.  There is also ‘My Weekly Spock’ segment every Monday that presents one or  photos of Nimoy as Spock, himself, or as the many other characters he’s played. (for more pics, see my original version ‘My Daily Spock‘)  Often on Wednesdays I have Wideo Wednesday where I post a fun video of whatever strikes my fancy (sometimes Trek) Every Friday I have FArFri, which stands for ‘Fan Art Friday’ where I  showcase the unique and marvelous Star Trek art I have found on the net.

Of course I have many interests outside of Star Trek, (see categories on right) and they get mentioned here from time to time. If you should need any more info about me, just click on the “ABOUT” link at the top of the page. (where you’ll see a silly 20 year old picture of me in my home-made Trek uniform!) If needed, you can also Contact me here.  Keep those cards comments and letters e-mails coming!

BTW, I produce this blog in the most old fashioned of ways — on my Desktop Computer with an old IBM keyboard!  I have a fun time  posting and creating, and nice way to say “Hi!” to Trek fans from all over.  Of course, I don’t post every day, and am very busy with my work and family, but if I can bring a little smile to you, my work is done!  Knowing that anyone even reads this is a pleasure to me, Enjoy, and I wish you all Peace and Long Life! -Therese 🙂
