Mystery Woman — Is this really Sandy Nimoy?

Going through my lovely new Nimoy Tribute magazine from my sister, I came across this amazing picture that I’ve never seen before:

Untitled-1

The Caption says it’s Sandy Nimoy, Leonard’s first wife, but to me it just doesn’t look like her! The face and hair seem wrong – especially since we’re more accustomed to seeing her look like this:

Untitled-2

She also isn’t wearing a wedding ring.  I’ve seen other pictures of Sandy with Leonard on the set (taken later)   But this just seems off!  Winston, you know everything Nimoy, is this really Sandy?

UPDATE:   Winston just confirmed my suspicion that the lady in the first picture is NOT Sandy Nimoy (I really didn’t think so)– So who the heck is she?  It’s not his ‘Girl Friday’ Teresa, it ain’t Phyllis Diller — Who is it? (and I wish I were she!)

A Nice Surprise! (Nimoy Magazine)

My  darling Sister and her beau brought me this last night!  Thanks SO much! It’s beautiful!

Wideo Wednesday: A Very Rare Interview with Leonard in 1967, KGW-TV.

IMG_3220 copy

Still from Nimoy’s 1967 interview with KGW-TV

Prepare for a treat:  This is an extremely rare and long-thought lost interview with Leonard Nimoy in 1967 for Portland,Oregon station KGW-TV news.  Leonard talks about being Mr. Spock, and the interviewer must be entranced because she asks him questions as if the Enterprise and Spock are real!   (She likes his hair too!)

Kudos to reader John Webb for alerting me to this!

My Weekly Spock: Man of the People

Going through some files, I came across many pictures of Nimoy with fans, and these were back in the before time, you know, the 60’s and 70’s, before the expensive meet-and-greets of modern conventions.  When you think about it, there must have been thousands like these, and Leonard never forgot where his fame came from, and was always nice and generous with his time to the fans, even when it was overwhelming!   I hope I’ll find more candids like this, and if you or anyone you know has a story of photo of themselves meeting Leonard Nimoy, please join my new Facebook Group here  https://www.facebook.com/groups/833569276690890/ and you can post them there.  We have over 50 members already!

Sorry this is so tiny; the only size I could find.

I believe this photo was taken at the same event, (Leonard with Sandi) from his groovy outfit!

I’m believe this is mid-70’s — note: Nimoy is wearing the famous Spock Tee shirt with “Who is Leonard Nimoy?” on it!

FArf: Two Beautiful Tribute Paintings by Pierre-Luc Faubert and Andrew Hunt

I just came across these on Deviant Art –The first; a perfect blooper study by  Pierre-Luc Faubert  Mr. Spock-Farewell Leonard Nimoy  and the second, Goodbye, Spock by Andrew Hunt, which has the mature Nimoy in the original uniform.  These are both so beautiful, I’m sure Mr. Nimoy would have loved them.  Excellent work by these two incredibly talented artists!

Wideo Wednesday: Assignment: Earth- Two Opening Sequences — If Only!

These two videos were brought to my attention by reader “Supervisor 194” (David Thomas) who created these two splendid opening sequences to the series that never was:  Assignment: EarthI love the music to these; the first being the original arrangement, and the second, a jazzier, ’70’s version.

I think Assignment: Earth would have made a wonderful series.  A lot of people see Gary Seven as an American version of Dr. Who, and I can see that quite easily.  Now if only someone in Hollywood would make this  real — I think Benedict Cumberbatch would made a fine Seven!

Celeste Update: Another Rough Week, but Over 20,000!

Celeste corset

Celeste gave us two updates today — she is thankfully home from the hospital but is using a nebulizer to help her breathing as she recovers from Bronchitis. (Thank God it didn’t develop into Pneumonia) Unfortunately, she developed a hernia from all the awful coughing. Please pray for her continued recovery and good health!  And please share this and donate any amount you can —  The Cancer Fund has passed $20,000, but if all my subscribers and ‘Likes’ here can contribute only $5.00 each this week, we can reach the mid-way mark by next Monday!! PLEASE contribute what you can!  You can donate HERE.  These complications have added more to her bills! Hang in there, Celeste! Our love, prayers and support are with you!  ❤  Here’s part of her updates:

I cannot thank you all enough for your love and support. It means so much to me as I am doing my best to recover from this horrible bronchitis, on top of cancer, now that I am home. But it just doesn’t want to let up. I am supposed to be at chemo on Saturday but not sure if I will be well enough to make it but I am doing my best and using the new home nebulizer unit with the two medications prescribed. They do help me to be able to breathe a bit better which has been so difficult but I am so lucky it didn’t go into pneumonia. Still I cannot take a good breath without choking.

Loads of love back to each and everyone of you for being so very generous in the supporting of my care.

My Weekly Spock- Beautiful Burgundy

If there is any up side to Mr. Nimoy’s passing, it’s that we’ll see many more pictures that we’ve never seen before!  Like these beauties from the 70’s. (Disco Leonard?)  I think the burgundy was a beautiful color on him.
