My Weekly Spock: He Loves to Laugh

I always love to see pictures of Leonard laughing –it’s a deep, powerful laugh, and always genuine! You can hear it now…

My Weekly Spock: Rare pics from 1972 “Oliver” (as Fagin)

I was delighted to come across these rare photos of Leonard from 1972 when he starred as Fagin in the (Milwaukee) Melody Top Theater stage production of “Oliver”.  Here he’s seen on and off stage, in rehearsal, and in some especially rare color photos, in and out of character with fellow actor Clyde Miller, who appears just a little star-struck! (Can’t blame him there!) I wish I could have seen this (or any of Nimoy’s stage works), looks like a blast.

My Weekly Spock – Triple Dose — 1969, 1973

Hey Kids, Sorry it’s been a while since I posted my Weekly Spock — so here’s a trio!  I love all of these and you can read about the first picture here

Another pose from the “Go!’ session. “Go!” was a half-hour show for kids shown after Saturday morning cartoons, and it highlighted adventurous occupations. Leonard’s was about The Coast Guard, and I remember watching it, not really caring about the speed boats but just watching it for Leonard! (My 12 year old heart leapt for joy!)

FArFri: “Unsure” A Young, Pensive Spock from The Cage, by artist karracaz

I love this cool, youthful image of Spock from “The Cage” by artist karracaz  Just think, he played Spock for the first time 50 years ago!   Aren’t we lucky?

My Weekly Spock: At the Premiere of ST:TMP

This week marks the 35th Anniversary of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. (and let the franchise begin!)  Here’s a rare shot of Leonard and Bill at the premiere that was held in (interestingly enough) Washington D.C.!  The tuxes really reflect their personalities; Disco Bill is in his ruffles while Suave Leonard in in his traditional, fine tailored threads.  Marcy and Sandy look sweet too!

True, the movie may have not been the best, but I’m glad they had a fun night!

My Weekly Spock Something to be Thankful For

Hey Kids,

I meant to post this the other week before Election Day but couldn’t find it!   I just love his smile here, and looking so sharp!  Mr. Nimoy, thanks for all the joy and talent you’ve given the world! Wanna come over for Thanksgiving? 😉

FArf: A Computer Read Out Spock!

Hey Kids,

Back around 1978 or 9 I was given this cool (and for the time) state-of-the-art computer-printed illustration of Spock!  (Possibly from one of my siblings) It’s antiquated by today’s standards, but still pretty cool.   I love the quote, yet although I don’t think Spock ever said this, it totally fits his personality.

I recall ‘tweaking’ the original with a felt-tip marker (making more hairs on his head and darkening the collar).  It’s been  mounted on cardboard and has been sitting with my stuff in the basement for years.   I scanned it and fixed its yellowing and age marks with Photoshop, but it still has a place in my heart 🙂

My Weekly Spock – Profile in Courage

I’m happy to report that TOS gallery of  images is back on TrekCore! (thanks for the update Cory!)

While searching for images for my next poster (And the Children Shall Lead) I noticed that this episode featured an abundance of side shots of Spock.  Enjoy the epic profile!

My Weekly Spock: Civic Duty

Tomorrow here in the U.S. are the mid-term elections (these are just as important, if not more so than the presidential ones).   If you live here, don’t forget to vote! Here’s Leonard campaigning for George McGovern in 1972, and with a “Spock for President’ bumper sticker in ’68!  🙂

My Weekly Spock: Leonard, the Youth.

What a fine young man!  Is it me or is his right ear sticking out more than usual here?
