A friend on Facebook posted these (Thanks Glo!). She had these pictures from a friend of hers who happened to be in Leonard’s old Boston neighborhood in the ’70’s when he was visiting his Mom! You can see his mom Dora in the 1st picture with from the back getting into the car. Ever gracious, Leonard smiles for the fan in the second picture. ❤
Well it’s been a very blue winter (in so many ways) and to shake my winter blues I think of Spring, and when I think of Spring, I think of April, and when I think of April I think of April in Paris…or rather April with Paris!

Something that always makes me happy is seeing a great picture of Leonard smiling. He had such a warm, genuine smile. Weren’t we lucky he was a public figure? 🙂 For the rest of this year, I’ll post a pic of smiling Leonard every week!
Today, November 16, is COPD World Awareness Day. It saddens me to think of how many people have suffered with this condition, but what’s more, it is a mostly preventable condition. (unless genetic) Remember how Leonard stressed abstinence and quitting in his final year. He had said:
“I quit smoking 30 years ago; not soon enough!” …”If you smoke, quit now and if you haven’t started, don’t!”
To think that in his last hours, the poor man couldn’t even talk, his beautiful baritone voiced silenced, his lungs closing up, is heart-wrenching. I’ll never forget when I saw him in NYC in 2013 how he had an awful coughing fit on the stage of Symphony Space. This was before his disease was public knowledge, but I suspected that something was awfully wrong with him. I’m sure had he survived he would still be promoting awareness of the awful diseases that are under the tent of COPD; emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Please support the COPD community and in Leonard’s memory, please don’t smoke. And thanks to his daughter Julie, for making this part of the conversation. ❤

I was so thrilled when I came across this picture on Facebook! I knew that sweater and shirt! How’s that? This was how Leonard looked the very day I met him for the first time on February 18, 1978. This must have been earlier in the day, as Leonard is being interviewed by local news crews in Elmira NY, just before his appearance at the Clemmons Center for his presentation: “ Mr.Spock and I”:An Evening with Leonard Nimoy“. You can read all about my experience at this lecture here. Ah how this brings back memories! So happy to see a close up photo from that night! So cool! (And so darn cute!) I’ll never forget it! 🙂

Leonard graced us with his presence at so many Trek and Sci-Fi conventions over the years. His joy and compassion are missed, but the smiles and happiness he left behind are forever ❤ Here he is at his final Trek convention in 2011 in Las Vegas- (age 80). Forever loved and missed.

Last night was the Emmys – it seemed a good time to bring out Leonard in a tux! (here at the Oscars in 1983). It’s fun to see how the two styles here reflect Leonard and Bill’s personalities. Bill is flamboyant in a loud ruffly shirt while Leonard is reserved in classic pin-tucks. But their joy in each other is obvious here; they always made each other laugh.
It’s a crying shame Leonard never won an Emmy for Spock; I’m guessing bigger wallets prevailed. Sadly at these award shows, it’s rarely about talent and more about $. But Leonard will always be the Best Actor in our hearts!
