Hi Everyone! I’m still here!
I’ve had a busy year with many new projects and I’m sorry I haven’t been here for a long while, but you know I had to be here for the 60th Anniversary of our favorite series!
Today I want to share with you one of my favorite things. Last year I started collecting vintage brooches at thrift stores, and what started out as a few dozen has now ballooned into several hundred!! Yikes! I will be shrinking it down to a more reasonable quantity soon; after all, you can’t take it with you! But I wanted to share with you a special item that I’ve never seen before it person and I snatched it up for the bargain price of $2.99!
So I wandered in to my favorite shop one Saturday and there with the other brooches, was this

Look familiar? Well, this should ring a bell:

We first saw it with an iridescent stone on Philanna (Barbara Billingsley)in Plato’s Stepchildren.

Then we saw it with a black stone on Garth (Steve Inhat) in Whom Gods Destroy.
Now I could have sworn it was worn on Losira (Lee Merriwether)in That Which Survives, but in studying screencaps I realized it wasn’t the same ring… Howevah…

It show did up on Lovely Lee Meriwether’s finger a year later on Mission: Impossible in the episode The Falcoln. Still with the black stone.

I see there’s a similar smaller ring here. So…

Here’s the original ring from Paramount, it sold at auction in 2024 for $3,750! Now, I believe my brooch was originally a ring like this, then converted into a brooch, but hey, I’m happy! I wonder if mine had a black stone? You I can see mine has a faux opal stone, and you can see the streak of glue holding the stone in. (It keeps falling out!) I’m looking for a black stone to replace it! You just never know what you’ll find at a thrift shop!
