My Weekly Spock: Trailer Spock

Here’s some great rare shots of Leonard as Spock in a green jumpsuit! I’m guessing he’s in front of his trailer. Most likely  during the filming of This Side of Paradise. Who else could make a jumpsuit look this good?  Makes me smile!

My Weekly Spock: Father and Son

This week, my oldest son Steve is turning 19!  So proud of him and thankful for my beautiful son!  It got me in mind to post these of Leonard and his son Adam. 🙂

Wideo Wednesday: Nimoy as Sherlock in “The Interior Motive” (1975)

Leonard made this little gem of a scientific educational video for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in 1975 for the series The Universe and I.   The acting’s a bit exaggerated, but it’s all in good fun, as it was used  in closed circuit TV in Kentucky public schools. They were filmed in Kentucky. Fun to see Nimoy in his Sherlock Holmes character, and a good science lesson too!

I Dream of Leonard with the Light Tan Suit…

glassesI dreamed of Leonard Nimoy this morning.   I know this may come as a shock to some of you, but I really don’t dream of him all the time!  (Although I have shared a few here) .

Anyway, I was sitting in an audience, probably at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater at Symphony Space on Broadway, and I could see him at a distance, sitting on a panel with several other people, including Bill Shatner.  Leonard was talking with enthusiasm about acting in a play,  definitely mentioned something about Star Trek.  He wore a light tan suit and brown aviator glasses like the ones he wore in the ’70’s.  He was so happy and laughing, and his beautiful hands were gesturing with all his words.  Surprisingly (and most unrealistically) Shatner sat quietly and didn’t interrupt!  The audience laughed and applauded.

I felt so happy for him, and then suddenly it was just me and him on the stage, and he was directing me in a play.  Not much else after that, although I think this came to mind because (in real life)  I’ll be performing in a staged reading of The Importance of Being Earnest this coming Friday!

Nice to know dream Leonard has my back in acting!

Sweet dreams, everyone ❤

My Weekly Spock: Hoodie Man

Dude! This was such a funny pic of Leonard.  See?  The old man could still be cool!  Loved by young and old alike. ❤

Cross-Stitch Leonard in Black and White

Since I’ve had a awful head cold this week, I took a little time to make another Nimoy picture with the Cross Stitch World Game on Facebook.  This is one of my favorite photos of him ever!  Well, back to more fluids and rest! ❤

My Weekly Spock: That Salome Shirt!!

Good Lord! I thought as I first saw this incredible shirt picture — what disco did Leonard just boogie out of?  But on closer inspection, I could see that the images on the shirt are a marvelous collage of Aubrey Beardsley illustrations from the Oscar Wilde illustrated play of Salome.  The gowned image on his right (your left) elbow is a portion of a piece that lists the artwork in the book.  On his left (your right) elbow is a devilish hermaphrodite.  On his upper right shoulder is ‘The Climax“.  These are actually some of the less graphic designs in the book, which you can see here.  Beardsley could be quite bizarre, creepy and controversial, but often beautiful too.   Incredible stuff.

I’m guessing this picture was taken not in the disco era, but a but earlier, say 1969-71, when there was a revival bloom in the rediscovery of Beardsley  artwork (probably brought on by the Psychedelic movement).  If there are any more pictures from this shoot, I’d love to see them.   Leonard definitely had his own style though!  Groove on!
