UPDATE — The Completed Version of “Let’s Hear It For the 430!”

Hey kids, here’s the final and complete version of the poster I put up here last week — now with even MORE crewmen! It seems that every time I thought it was safe to finish this, I found another crew member (some notable, like Mr. D’Amato from ‘That Which Survives”) that I couldn’t leave out! This is actually the third reboot of this poster, but I’m done now, really!   Be sure to click on the image to see the full size version, I don’t want you to miss a thing!

I’m working on a Key to identify all these people too, so stay tuned!

Toon Tuesday (a day late) Wig Shop!

Ever wonder where the women of the Enterprise get their hair done? How many famous ‘do’s can you identify?

Wideo Wednesday 1/9/13

Yesterday , January 8th, would have been Elvis’ Birthday — in that spirit, here’s a couple of videos showing the Elvis/Star Trek connection! (Well, some of  the Elvis movies and Star Trek were both made by Paramount, so that’s not too surprising!) I always thought Kirk was the Elvis of the Galaxy!

Toon Tuesday 1/8/13– Viva Las Shore Leave! Dr. Presley is in!

Since today would have been Elvis’ 78th Birthday, and since he made many of his movies at Paramount, and since his natural swagger would have made him a perfect Starfleet swinger, this seemed appropriate!   If Elvis was The Enterprise’s Cheif Medical Officer, he would have given Kirk a run for his money!   These girls belong in Viva Las Vegas! anyway!

My 300th Post! Here’s to the 430!

Hey Kids!

I was glancing through my archives this weekend and I realized that I had just posted article #299 this past Friday, and my next would be #300!  I figured I better do something special for this little occasion, so I finished a collage that I’ve been working on for a few months now. probably my most ambitious yet — Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce to you — The 430! (be sure to click on it for detail:  I tried to add every notable crew member I could find!)

FArFri – 1/4/13 “SpongeTrek” — Plankton as PLANG

plangWhat do you get when you cross a Klingon with a megalomania-cal protozoa? Why, Commander PLANG, of course!  Here’s the latest in my SpongeTrek series, Plankton as ‘PLANG’, with apoligies to the wonderful Michael Ansara (Kang)  🙂

FArFri — 12/28/12 ‘Sponge Trek’

Thought I’d end FArFri 2012 with a laugh! Here’s three drawings from a series I’m creating — Sponge Trek!   (Sponge Bob characters in Star Trek gear!)   I’m especially proud of ‘Spockward’; it’s amazing how Squidward fits so well into the Spock persona! More to come soon, enjoy, and Happy New Year! -Therese

The Daily Scrapbook 12/10/12 , February 1978, Nimoy only 40 minutes away…

V1-pg 62Here’s today’s flashback — From February of 1978, a very exciting time for me as I waited with baited breath for my trip to Elmira (40 minutes away) to see, live and in person, Leonard Nimoy.  This 16 year old was so excited, she wrote two (really crappy) limericks!   More on this event soon!

The Daily Scrapbook 12/7/12 ‘Star Blecch” – The Original MAD magazine parody.

Here’s today’s flashback:  From the late 70’s, a reprint of the original MAD Magazine Star Trek Parody — Star Bleech.  Funny and brilliant, back when MAD magazine was the go-to for delightfully skewered satire. Excellent art by Mort Drucker, (with a nod to  Don Martin’s everyman) and hilarious writing by Dick DeBartolo,   Enjoy!

Wideo Wednesday “Balance of Terror” – Star Trek Sci Fi Channel Special Edition

A nice little retrospective of Balance Of Terror that aired along with the episode on the Sci-Fi Channel in 1999 –Definitely one of my favorite episodes.
