My Weekly Spock: Shuttlecraft Designer!

Hi All,

Sorry I’m late this week, but work is getting busier, and on Monday I had the pleasure of seeing Bernie Sanders at a rally in my home town!

For this week, I found this wonderful rare promo shot of Leonard posing with the (mighty handsome) designer of the Galileo shuttlecraft designer, Gene Winfield!

My Weekly Spock: Leonard Nimoy in “Seizure” (1980)

Just came across these gorgeous stills from Seizure: The Story of Kathy Morris which came out in 1980.  I remember seeing this when it was broadcast, based on a true story and very moving.

My Weekly Spock: Preview of Rare Slides

Hey All,

I recently acquired a bunch of rare slides from a dealer on eBay which came from the Celebrity Photo Agency in CA.  Naturally I bought three pages of rarely seen Nimoy images to share here!

Pardon the quality of the image — this is just a quick scan of one of the slides, and when I get these converted to prints, it will look much sharper and brighter.   This was taken of Leonard at a book signing at Brentanos on October 30th of 1995.   More to come in time!  Enjoy!

My Weekly Spock: Seventies Man

I always love seeing Nimoy in his 1970’s mode!  Mister Cool!   Here’s a few from personal appearances.  Of course, the media still wouldn’t let Spock go at this point, as the caption to the last picture dictates “Spock, Where are your ears?” Oy!

Wideo Wednesday” Leonard Nimoy in Bonanza Under Attack (1995)

On Monday I featured photos of Leonard in Catlow and Bonanza Under Attack (1995)  I found the video of the Bonanza movie!    So glad he got to do another western at this stage in his career :-).  Enjoy!

My Weekly Spock: Western Wulcan

Seemed like a good time to bring out some Western shots of Leonard in two of his best westerns, Catlow (1971) as bounty hunter Miller, and the NBC movie, Bonanza: Under Attack (1995)  where Leonard played  reformed outlaw Frank James who helps the progeny of the Cartwright family fight an unscrupulous Pinkerton detective.   I’ve seen Catlow, but never the Bonanza one, hope to find it soon.

Woody, Buzz, and Memorial Oscar Tribute to Leonard

If you stayed up late enough to see the Memorials on this years Oscars, I’m sure you were pleased to see Leonard featured there, and they saved him for last  🙂 .   It was a quiet tribute with David Grohl playing a beautiful acoustic version of “BlackBird”.  They chose one of my favorite pictures of Leonard, too.  You can see the video here.

However, this wasn’t the only  nod to Nimoy in the broadcast; when best animated feature was ‘announced’ by Woody and Buzz from Toy Story, the pre-created animation for the segment had Woody giving the Vulcan Peace Sign as he mocked Buzz. It was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, but I caught it on freeze-frame!  Nice touch.

Happy Leap Day!

Today is February 29th! Only comes every 4 years — so make the most of your extra day! Poor Spock has found his way onto a planet of giant furniture and cats! (I took this action picture of my sister’s cat Chester in January!)
