The Eyes Have It; The Cosmic Cosmetics of Trek

Posted on February 18, 2015 | 1 comment

Jeepers Creepers! Apparently, Cover Girl and Maybelline still sell in the  23rd century!  You gotta give make up director Fred Phillips credit for creating truly cosmic eye make-up for the ladies (and many men) of TOS.  Here’s a review; be sure to click on thumbnails for full size image:

Celeste Yarnall Update 2/16 — A Rough Week-But We All Can Help!

Posted on February 16, 2015 | 1 comment

celeste threetHi Everybody,

It was a rough week for our Celeste — (Celeste Yarnall, The Apple, as Martha Landon)  On top of endless bills for her cancer treatment, she caught an awful cold/bronchitis bug that forced her to postpone chemo.  As she posted on her site:

Right after returning from the Conscious Life Expo I caught a terrible cold/bronchitis bug which is quite a set back as I have had to yet again postpone my chemo for this week and of course the bills just keep coming in which adds to the stress level but I know with all of your love and continued support I can overcome all the challenges that have come my way lately and rise like the phoenix again.

Yes, we can help Celeste!  At this writing, her GoFundMe cancer fund has reached $15,300, up $1,636 from last week.  It’s slowly creeping up, but there’s still a ways to go. So I did a bit of calculating:

TrekkerScrapbook  e-mail followers:            299                                             TrekkerScrapbook Facebook followers:     +787                                                                                                                              1086

That’s 1,086 Trekkers! (I’m honored, Thanks!) But just think– if every subscriber here gave just $32.00 each we could raise the full $50,000 TODAY!  Wouldn’t that be marvelous?  If you can’t afford $32, any amount will help!  Please contribute here today, and  please pass this along to everyone you know! Thanks so much!

Celeste, you will rise like a phoenix from this!  All our love, support, and prayers, Therese xo

My Weekly Spock: Rare TOS Publicity Photos

Posted on February 16, 2015 | 6 comments

I’m always happy to find publicity photos for original Trek episodes.  Recently I came across a few I had never seen before!  It makes me wonder if there were publicity pictures for every episode made? (Wouldn’t that be great?)  Well, I’ll keep searching! Here’s some fun ones for now from This Side of Paradise,  Mudd’s Women, and Spectre of the Gun!  I find the Mudd’s Women’s ones especially funny!

“It Must Be a Trekkie in That Car!” My Trek Car Family Decals

Posted on February 10, 2015 | 3 comments

Hey Kids,

I’m sure you’ve seen many ‘family’ decals on the backs of mini-vans; you know the ones with a Mom, Dad, Kids, baby, dog cat, etc…  I had avoided getting anything like these until now when I bought these recently at thinkgeek.com.  I guess I just couldn’t resist them!  Of course. I’m the Rom-Com married to Mr. Spock with our two little Spocks!  However, if this was physically accurate, all three Spocks would tower over me! Oddly, the Rom-Com seems a tad taller than her Spock, but maybe it’s the hair!

These come in several sheets with all different Trek characters on them, including Crew, The Gorn, Isis, and even a Tribble to represent whatever pet you have! I still have a bunch of these I’m not using, so maybe I’ll pass them out to family members.  (My brother would make a fine Klingon!)   I just wonder if modern eyes will know the references?

Here they are on the back of my car: IMG_2494

And here’s the real deal… 🙂

And here’s all the characters (you get doubles of the little ones), they’re on sale for $12.99 at thinkgeek.com.    You can also get coupons for ThinkGeek here: :  http://verified.codes/ThinkGeek

My Weekly Spock: Camelot Cassanova

Posted on February 9, 2015 | 1 comment

I just came across these great pics of Leonard during his time playing King Arthur in Camelot (1973).  Wish I could have seen this !  A classmate of mine back in 7th grade did see Nimoy in this show in Massachussetts — I was so jealous!  Love the alternate universe-ish goatee! (but real this time!)

Celeste Update 2/9/2015 — Bit by Bit, an Achievable Goal!

Posted on February 9, 2015 | 3 comments

Hey All,

Here’s this week’s update for Celeste Yarnall’s cancer fund. At this writing, they have raised $13,664 toward the $50,000 goal.  It’s taking a bit of time, but it is an achievable goal! You can contribute here. Please consider Mr. Spock’s calculations in the below comic, and please share this on Facebook, Twitter, emails, everywhere you can! I know we can help Celeste battle and win against this hellish ailment. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could reach the goal in 12 days?  Thanks to you All! We love you Celeste! And Pass it on!

#64 ‘The Tholian Web’

Here’s my latest poster! I wonder if the cast enjoyed filming an episode that was 90% Kirk-Free?  Good drama here 🙂
