My Weekly Spock 9/24/12

Welcome back Nimoy fans!  Here’s a cuddle to start the week, from a German article in the 1970’s

I’m Back, Baby!

Hey Kids!  I’m back after taking a little break for the summer and looking forward to sharing new Trek and other silly stuff with you!   I am rested, refreshed, and happy to report that I have lost 4 pounds to date! (My Wii pedometer really helped!) Slow but steady loses the weight.

You’ll be getting your weekly dose of Nimoy/Spock on Mondays, selections from my original ’70s Trek Scrapbooks Monday through Friday, and more Trek and non-Trek stuff sprinkled throughout.  Hope to hear from you in the comments, and it’s nice to be back!

Happy Autumn, Everyone! -Therese

George (Takei) of the Jungle!

I’m a week early here, but I just posted this on FB and I wanted it to be here too!  Enjoy!   George had a section on his Facebook page called “If I ran Hollywood”  and it inspired me to make this! (Naturally!)  I don’t know if George will keep it there, but I hope he likes it!  See you next Monday – Therese

Mark Your Calendars for Sept. 24! Two weeks to go until I’m back!

Hey Kids! I’ve been taking my time off from posting here to organize and create a bunch of new stuff when I come back on Monday, September 24!  Looking forward to sharing new fun Trek stuff with you then!  New categories, favorite Trek and other videos, Fan Art, and of course – the reason this blog was created –  you will soon see inside my old, one of a kind, TREKKER SCRAPBOOKS from the 1970’s and a few surprises!

Please post a comment to let me know you’re still here!

See you soon! Therese

I’m taking some time off. An unpaid Sabbatical for my mind.

Hey kids,  I’ll be taking a break from posting here on my site.  I expect I’ll be back on a more regular basis in a few months. I’m not doing this because I hate it or have become bored.   But I have to spent more time  concentrating on my main goal (losing weight), and I need to get out into the real world more, not to mention spend more quality time with my family.  I’ve been writing this blog for a little over a year now, and started it on a lark, but as fun as it is, it doesn’t pay any bills  and can become more time consuming than I’d hope for.  You can still contact me through the site’s email   (trekkerscrabbook@gmail.com) if have any comments or questions.  But for now, Enjoy the Summer!!  Get Outside! Turn off your Computer! Move! Have some fun with your friends, family, and the rest of the world!   See you in the fall.  With love and blessings, Therese

Wish I could afford to to somewhere like this! But the local pool will do…

Happy Fourth of July!

Have a fun day, stay safe and keep cool!

My Weekly Spock 7/2/12

The Secret Lives of Spock — A funny and clever compilation of multiple Spocks!  Found this online, and I love it!  Let’s see how many we can identify

Let’s see…David Bowie (as Ziggy Stardust) Spock as Avatar, Marilyn Monroe, Mad Max(?) Spock as a Simpson?, Magnum P.I. no idea, Fat Spock (Alfred Hitchcock?), Che Guevera Spock, Mickey Mouse Spock, Muppet Bert Spock, Zombie Spock (shudder!),Planet of the Spock Apes (Cornelius maybe?), Princess Leia-Spock, no idea, Conan O’Spock.   The joy of this is how easily Spock fits into all of these personas!   The last one is ironically not too differenf from how young Nimoy really looked (sans the red color!)See this:

Poster #26 — The Devil In the Dark

Another poster for Season 1! This time I stated it from the Horta’s point of view, and note how I made Spock’s eyes glow creepily as one’s might in the dark.  Since we are the scarier of the species, it seemed appropriate.

My recent article from BoK — Live Long and Krishna-Paul Kinsey’s Trek

My latest article for Basket of Kisses — about a character that I suspected a while back would be a Trekkie. Enjoy, and note, I included my poster from here  of The Conscience of the King, and a funny mash up collage of Paul Kinsey in Spock Gear!

Johnny and Lenny-A Meeting of Minds (collage)

Hey Kids,

Been looking over Beatle pics lately and came across the iconic portrait of John Lennon in a doorway in Hamburg,Germany around 1960, taken by his pal Juergen Vollmer.  This photo was later used on Lennon’s 70s compilation, Rock n’ Roll Music. (1975) It reminded me of another picture of Nimoy as a greaser in the 1960 TV episode of Lock Up  (The Case of Frank Crotty) –well…it seemed a natural fit, considering that these are two of my favorite people of all time.  I bet they would have had a hell of a conversation! Call it an ultimate Beatle/Trek fantasy. Enjoy, Therese
