My Home Made TARDIS

Today was my sweet husband’s birthday, and we love Dr. Who, so I made him his own TARDIS!   And like the real thing, it’s BIGGER on the INSIDE! (And a candy box to boot!)   I got the idea to make this from this picture on the ‘net. although mine’s more crafty, (note the felt exterior, shiny metallic interior and how the candy boxes read “Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey”!)  Didn’t know I liked Dr. Who too,eh?  I made it it two days, glad I pulled it off! He got a big kick out of it!   Enjoy!

All I want for Christmas is a Spock amigurumi  by artist (Kristel) on DeviantArt!  Making delightful amigurumi  characters is just one of her artistic talents!  Her Spock is perfect! Love the Tribbles!

I wish I knew how to knit, I’d make the whole crew and all the original glamorous aliens to boot!

Separated at Birth? Star Trek Lookalikes

While watching old episodes of Trek, I’ve always thought that Majel Barrett (No. 1, Nurse Christine Chapel) could have been a twin, or at least a sister to the great comic actress Eve Arden.  (Our Miss Brooks, Mildred Pierce, Grease). Both women had similar speech delivery and mannerisms.  Check out any of Ms. Arden’s movies and you’ll see what I mean. With this in mind, I gathered up a bunch of other celebrity lookalikes in the Star Trek Universe.  Let me know if you can think of any more!

Netflix Rep Makes a Great Starfleet Captain

I came across this funny article today — There is a  Netflix  Customer Representative who portrays himself as a Starfleet Captain to his customers when solving their problems.  “Captain Mike Mears” safely delivers his customers through the wormholes of bad reception.  A particular  conversation he had with a customer recently was especially Trek-worthy; both Mike and his customer stayed in character through the whole conversation!  Best customer rep ever! (Jim Kirk would be proud!)

If I ever need to talk to Netflix, I hope I get this guy! Good to know that the universe is safe from bad reception!  Enjoy:
