FArF: The Beatles and Mr. Spock

I came across this a while back, and since today would have been the 75th birthday of John Lennon, it seems the right day to present it!   I think Spock would have grokked The Beatles!  What a pleasure to have two of my great joys in the same artistic universe!  Unfortunately, I do not know the artist, and as you can see, all the original prints of this were sold out — but at least I have this image!   🙂   (To see more Beatle-flavored Trek stuff, see here, here, here, here, here, and here.beatles_1_soldout

John Lennon at 75

Hey All,

Today, October 9th,  would have been the 75th birthday of John Lennon.  What I wouldn’t give to hear his thoughts on the world today.  Greatly missed.  Not just for his music, but for his humanity.  I hope he and George Harrison are celebrating.   Here’s one of my favorites, enjoy:

Wideo Wednesday: “The Air That I Breathe” by The Hollies

And now for something completely different — One of my favorite songs of all time, The Air That I Breathe by The Hollies.   Although it came out in 1974, the first time I remember hearing it was  in the summer of 1979, on my first visit to Atlantic City, the first time I had ever seen the ocean.  It was dusk, and as the sun was setting on the rippling, majestic Atlantic,  this lilting, lush, and oh so romantic song was playing from a speaker on the pier.  It was a perfect fit. Enjoy a little zen.

Funny thing is, I had never seen this video until this week!  The wonderful lead singer of The Hollies, Allan Clarke, reminds me here of my darling husband as a teenager in the 70’s! (No wonder I can’t stop watching it!)  *Sigh!*

My Weekly Spock: In a Wavy Trance

Just came across these on Facebook — (Thanks Lynett Ann Toole!)   My goodness; wavy hair and entrancing poses!  Welcome back to My Weekly Drool  Spock!

FArF: Shatvision!

Fan Art Friday is back! Here to give you your Trek art fix every week!

I don’t know who made this, but it screams late 60’s early 70’s  ad copy!  Note the intense mini-Kirks around the edges and that the the goggles are 100% Dylithium Crystal Clear!   Brilliant!

(And if anyone knows who made this, let me know, I want to credit them!)
